Saving Broken Hearts
If there is a sudden cardiac death in the family
If a fit and healthy person dies prematurely, suddenly and unexpectedly, there is a probability that he or she died from a cardiac condition. If the sudden death occurred at the time of an accident, such as an inexplicable car accident, or a drowning where there is no obvious reason, the possibility that a cardiac condition may have initiated the accident should be considered. If no abnormality of the heart muscle structure can be detected at postmortem, it may be suspected that the person died from a Sudden Arrhythmic Death (SAD).
